Post offices are what keep many isolated communities from being cut off entirely. But @CitizensAdvice finds that the number of 'temporarily' closed post offices has more than doubled in the last 3 years.

I say 'temporarily' because 2 in 3 stay closed for over a year.

In Yorkshire, 1 in 10 post offices are 'temporarily' closed. 

For people with a closed post office or unreliable service, this means losing access to banking services, bill payment, and parcel collection, among other things.

Post offices have the potential to deliver far greater social value, but at the moment the cracks are showing in the network.
