Shillong Times management, guilty of making their staff work ignoring #Covid_19 situation, sacked features ed @NabamitaM, exec ed Dipankar Roy, news ed EM Jose w.e.f Sept 1 but served the letters on Sept 7. Reason stated was "COVID-19 generated reasons" (2/n)
Yesterday 11 editorial staff told the management they would not work until and unless those three are reinstated. The management has not been able to break their resolve till the time of this tweet. IUJ has come out in support of this resistance (3/n)

It is also fantastic that "locals" have stood up for 3 "outsiders" at a place which is often read through a local vs outsider discourse. That discourse has received a thrashing here (n/n)
