I demanded - 65 % CO2-reduction. This would be compatible with the 1,5-degree temperature goal (31 in favour, 45 against).60% CO2-reduction is more than any other instutions suggested. And there is a review-clause for the law that only mentions the 1,5-goal
The CO2-Budget is a new instrument. It will show how much CO the EU will be able to emit altogether. It brings long-term security and transparency to the debate and thus has the potential to really change things.
We ban subsidies for fossil fuels. This will stop the support the 137 billion Euros that go every year into dirty coal, gas and oil. 
In addition, the EU-commission has to report if their financial expenses and all financial flows are in line with the climate objectives.
Every EU citizen will get the right to take national governments to court, if they do not comply with their climate and energy targets and plans. This is advancing the universal right to a healthy climate a lot.
We create an independent scientific body, the European Council on Climate Change. It will give suggestions to the Commission on how to adapt their policies to the latest science. Meaning: We #ListenToSicence
What will happen now? The Plenary of the European Parliament will vote on this law from the Environmental Committee in October. Then we have to negotiate it with the Environmental Ministers of the Member States. Germany has an important role as the Presidency
A great result, but not yet there to go for the 1,5 degree path. 
This would not have been possible without the climate movement. 
Thanks to my team and everyone that fought since about a year for this. It paid off after all.
