THREAD: Gender reveal parties.

My side hustle is photography. I appreciate how many people have recommended my photography services to others lately, but just a reminder that I do NOT shoot gender reveals.
You cannot say you support the transgender community and people like me (I’m non-binary, in case you’ve forgotten) and then hold a gender reveal party that forces harmful gender roles and norms on an unborn child based on their external genitalia.
Gender reveals are ALWAYS transphobic.
The only exception being when trans people, who can tell us what their gender identity is (an unborn child or baby can't) decide to throw one or coordinate with family or friends to throw one.
Even the creator of them regrets it now that she has a gender non-conforming child.
Consider instead a name reveal party and know that a name is a gift. Your child might someday give it back and choose another one that better suits them.
