FAKE!!
Maharaja Ranbir Singh did not introduce Urdu as official but #Dogri language in #Takri script as official in JK.
The ignoramus author @irfanaminmalik is not even aware that Maharaja Ranbir died in 1885. So how could he introduce Urdu in 1889?

Thread busting this FRAUD.. https://twitter.com/TheQuint/status/1303938875845271552
During reign of Maharaja Ranbir Singh, Dogri was recognised as an official language and came to be used on official stamps of the state along with already existing Persian (from Mughal rule in Kashmir). Hindi in Devanagari also got place in the official documents
For the revival of Dogri language and literature, Dogri script i.e. Takri script was also popularised and improved by scholars at Jammu court.

The aim was to shook off the yoke of Mughal rule and popularise use of own language & script during self rule
To popularise Dogri language, Maharaja Ranbir Singh started a Dogri class in Sri Raghunath Mandir pathshala.

Sons of nobles & respectable citizens were ordered to learn Dogri. Scholars were provided free board, lodging & books & uniforms as an incentive to learn Dogri
Maharaja Ranbir Singh Jamwal himself used fo visit the school every week. He himself examined the progress of each student & used to give them awards.

Important to Note: 10% was deducted from the salary of Govt employee who dint posess working knowlege of Dogri language
In addition a large number of Dogri books in Dogri (Takri) script were written and that too books related to technical subjects like a Sanskrit text Lilavati was translated into Dogri and written in Dogri by Jyotishi Vishveshwar ji
Jyotishi Vishveshwar ji also credited with another voluminous Dogri work named Vyavhar Gita.

Similarly Pandit Nilkanth Sharma wrote two Ayurvedic texts in Dogri language.

The Constitution of JK "Ranbir Dand Vidhi" written in Dogri script
So the question is when did Urdu came in vogue in Jammu & Kashmir?

During the reign of Maharaja Pratap Singh, Rai Bahadur Bagh Ram (a Punjabi) was appointed as Minister of Maharaja by the special appeal of political deptt of Govt of India (British India)
On the recommendation of British, he submitted to Maharaja a proposal to introduce Urdu/Hindustani as court language. The proposal was so cleverly worded that it made no mention of Dogri. It only sought to replace Persian with Urdu
But even after that Dogri (Takri) and Devanagari were used in the stamp papers of Jammu & Kashmir state.

For example here is one stamp paper of the reign of Maharaja Hari Singh (successor of Maharaja Pratap Singh) where Devanagari and Takri is used along with Perso Arabic script
Similarly schools in Jammu were also using Takri/Nagari scripts for writing Hindustani in addition to perso arabic script

Initally, the Kashmiri Muslims were against replacement of Persian language with Urdu language. Hilarious they never took pride in their native language
So in the 1st part of thread, we learnt that:
1. Dogri was official language of JK during Dogra rule (along with Hindi & already exisitinb Persian)
2. Maharaja himself promoted Dogri, by standardising script, ordering books to be written in Dogri and promoting its education
3. Urdu entered JK due to British pressure and recommendation by a Punjabi minsiter.
4. Urdu was introduced to replace Persian.
5. Even after Urdu's introduction, Nagari was used in Jammu. Takri & Nagari was still used in official stamps of the state
6. KM reluctance for Kashmiri
Now in the 2nd part, we will look at the other lies by @irfanaminmalik

He mentions that //Govt think Urdu is language of Muslims//

Then writes //Urdu did not completely vanquish from Jk because religious (Muslim) scriptures written in Urdu//

He actually proved Govt right here
Here he quotes some Poet Zareef that govt decision to promote Kashmiri language is a hoax. And he says majority of people can't even read or write it.

Reality: Out of 69 lakh population of Kashmir, 59 lakh people registered Kashmiri as their mother tongue in Census 2011 i.e >85%
And Frauds like @irfanaminmalik don't even know that Jammu & Kashmir is Not just Kashmir division. It has another division i.e. Jammu with an area more than that of Kashmir.

In Jammu, #Dogri and its sister dialects/languages like Pahari, Gojri, Bhaderwahi are spoken by majority
He himself quotes J&K census where out of 1.25 crore people, only 13,351 identify Urdu as their mother tongue. That is even less than 0.11% population of the state.

So this person wants people to abandon their own mother tongue and hanker after Urdu?

Sheer Nonsense logic!!
Notice how cleverly they play the fraud to deceive readers. He writes //Govt. Decision to remove Urdu as "exclusive" official language in JK// Urdu is not removed. Its still an official language but they have problem with status given to mother tongues like Kashmiri & Dogri.
