BHASM, TRIPUUND AND AGHOR(भस्म, त्रिपुंड, और अघोर)

Today I will explain you about 3 topics i.e BHASM, TRIPUUND AND AGHOR.

So let's start.......
Bhasm is the sacred ash dear to shiva. It is of two types.

1)MAHABHASM:- Which is actually the Shiva.

2)SWALP BHASM:- This again has three types.
A)Shroutra(श्रोत) is applied and you have to recite ved mantras that time.
B)SMAARTH (स्मार्त) This is applied along with Puraan recitation.

C)LAUKIK (लौकिक) This Bhasm is obtained from your daily utilities.

It is know that Shiv pooja is incomplete without application of Bhasm. Even the devtas like Brahma and Vishnu apply Bhasm.
The Bhasm protects you from evil people and deeds. Every Shivbhakt knows the importance of Bhasm & TRIPUUND

Actually there is a ritual involved when applying this. It can be used only after you bathe. Think of Shiva when you apply this, either of the sukshma roop or sthool roop.
The aghori's have a different mantra and rituals while applying bhasm. The aghori applies this all over his body whereas shaivites apply it on thirty two & specific places on your body, each place has a specific devta.
Aghoris uses three types of bhasm- Ved, Shivanal and Bhav. The mantras are very different from vedic mantras. Their main mantra is

अघोरेभ्योऽथथोभ्यो घोर घोर करेभ्यः सर्वेभ्यःस्रवशर्वेभ्यः नमस्ते अस्तु रूद्ररूपेभ्यः॥
Bhasm should be prepared by pure wood from anyone of these Trees-Palaash, Bel, Vat, Peepal. Some prepare it from burnt metals like gold, iron and silver. The residue remaining in the havan/yagya kind is also Bhasm.
TRIPUUND:-
When you think of TRIPUUND immediately you think of the three curves on your forehead situated right above your eyebrows parallel to them. These three lines stand for the three prime devtas. Think about them while applying each line.
Use the last three fingers to apply Bhasm Don forehead thinking about the three devtas. This application relieves you from sorrow. This is about Tripuund application.
Now we describe the applying of bhasm in other parts of your body; your two ears, nose, mouth, neck, both arms, chest, ribs stomach, three folds above your stomach and three places on your both thighs. Each space represents a particular devta.
Some of them are Shivbhakt, Baad, Ishaan, Vedsutra, Rudra, Navdashra, Surya.

There is a story depicting the importance of Bhasm. Vaamdev was a sage and a strong Shivbhakt. He would remain quiet and roam around just thinking of Shiva.
Once he happened to be crossing Krounch forest which was full of demons.A hungry Brahmrakshasa pounced on him to kill and attempted to eat the Rishi. But a miracle happened.
Instead of eating Vaamdev, the demon surrendered before him gladly as on touching him he also had touched the bhasm on the Rishi's body. So the demon was purified.
He happily narrated the stories of his 25 previous lives. Twenty fifth births back, he was the King named Durjan.
When he was killed he was sent to Narak(Hell). And subsequently he took 25 births to pay for sins. In this birth he was born as Brahmarakshas. He requested Vaamdev to help him attain Moksha.

Here Vaamdev narrated to him the story of depicting the importance of bhasm.
A Brahmin entered into a hut and forcefully did the unbecoming Paap with the woman of the house in the absence of her husband. The husband suddenly came home and witnessed his misfortune. He killed the Brahmin in anger.

Actually the Brahmin would go to Narak for his misdeeds.
But as his dead body was being carried away, Shiva bhasm flew from somewhere and touched his body. So he was taken by the Shivdoots instead of yumdoot to Shivlok. In this way,we see that this bhasm can help you destroy your sins.
I will explain in detail in my upcoming book about these topics
