I find it pretty hard to write fresh analysis of Trump, because it all boils down to “terrible man does bad thing for selfish reasons.” Yet reporters from every major outlet are standing by to, say, cover whatever he and Bill Barr have cooked up for October uncritically.

So I’d say some people have a lot left to learn about Trump–including those who observe him most closely, but insist on reclearing the slate every morning.
