A look back into the history of #DaeguFC classic footy kits – Starting with the original by @KappaTeamwearUK inspired/based off the 2002 World Cup Italy kit. #ThrowbackThursday
2004 @JomaSportUK – The hedgehogs wore this beauty for the hedgehogs second season in #KLeague They went on to finish 4th from bottom (10th: 7W-7D-10L)
2005–2006 by Korean sports brand Kika. It was the first kit worn winning silverware with the 2006 Tongyeong Cup win. #KLeague was less successful: 2005 (8th: 8W 6D 10L) and 2006 (7th: 8W 10D 8L)
07/08 saw this absolute beauty by @lottosport As the top-scoring team, their attacking football earnt the name 'Bullet Football'. Sadly, they also conceded lots so finished '07 (12th: 6W 6D 14L) and '08 (11th: 8W 2D 16L). Main highlight was a historic first FA Cup semi-final
2009 saw the Sky Blues move back to @JomaSportUK – it was a season forget, however, as Daegu finished rooted to the bottom of the table, managing only 5 wins all season. Luckily K2 didn't exist back then so there was no relegation. Still though, decent kit.
2010 was a dark year for Daegu in both performances and kit design. Finishing bottom for the second consecutive season and out of the FA Cup in the first round, they made it to League Cup QF (but that was about it for highlights). It was the last dark blue kit for the hedgehogs.
Another unusual kit with the stripes and alternative logo. It's not one to remember for fans as it's a reminder of the involvement in the 2011 match-fixing scandal. Even after that, the 'hogs only finished 12th, so we shouldn't feel too bad. Anyway, I'm a fan of this kit.
The Navy Blues had improved form this year, finishing not-last for the first time in 2 seasons. With 10th place (of 16), the 'hogs nearly snug into the top half. Weirdly, the normal sky blue colour was reserved for the third kit this season.
2012 was the anniversary of the club so @hummel1923 released a special edition home kit and a new version of the crest, introducing the leaves around the shield.
Back to sky blue but 2013 was a season to forget as the hedgehogs were relegated from K1 into the second division, finishing 13th and racking up the fewest wins of anyone.
2014 was the last @hummel1923 kit for the hedgehogs and the first season in K League Challenge (2nd division). It wasn't a stunning season, finishing 7th - staying in the league another season.
Another year in the 2nd division saw a big improvement from 7th previously, up to 2nd place. Unfortunately, as there's only 2 promotion spots, the sky blues didn't progress as they lost in the playoffs. This was the first @KelmeUk kit. A decent clean design with dark blue details
The 2nd @KelmeUk kit was an evolution from the previous year, but again, not too shabby. In terms of the season, Daegu finished second but due to military service team, then Ansan Mugunghwa FC (Prev Police FC!) barred promotion, the 'hogs were back into K1!
2017 was the last kit but most striking design from @KelmeUk with the Daegu skyline silhouetted on the sleeve. I can't say this is my favourite kit but it's certainly unique! Back up in K1, the blues had a decent first year back, finishing 8th and easily avoiding relegation.
The first kit from 'The Hump' will always be an iconic kit with the blues historic FA Cup win, qualifying them for the @TheAFCCL for the 1st time. In the league, they finished top of split B in another positive step up in form.
2019 saw another change in manufacturer to Forward. This kit greatly benefitted from a simplified sponsor. In the league, the blues continued up the table, managing an all-time best 5th place finish. It also saw the opening of the current stadium and +200% increase in attendance
