i have a secret. you don't have to enforce all of the "remote learning rules" your school/district created for students. sometimes #goodtrouble is necessary.
real talk: when I was in the classroom, I worked in some schools with really oppressive structures/systems. my kids and I found ways to get free in our classroom though. we had conversations about the rules and why they were created. we established our own norms. we thrived.
i think folx always assume that teachers who have these really liberatory classrooms work in the most supportive/antiracist/radical schools.
nah, fam.
we are subversive. we take chances. we work hard and smart. we build relationships. we are courageous. we just do it.
