We all know Jović’s first season wasn’t what we really expected, but he’s still young, and there’s time to change, Luka definitely deserves his chance for that.
Everyone is talking about Hazard and his second season, but a lot of them are forgetting that there’s this one more “big signing” of 2019 that has to prove a thing in Madrid.
Unlike Hazard, Jović’s problem was lack of minutes, but this season, that looks bound to change.

Not only lack of minutes, but the times Jović played last season were mostly 10/15 minutes cameos and “irrelevant” matches where, well, the service wasn’t that what a #9 should be offered with.
Let’s look at this.
From a statistical point of view, Jović got only 5 balls with an xG over 30%, he scored two and missed three.
A striker is destined to miss more chances as he gets them mostly, but in Jović’s case, he didn’t even get provided with chances enough.

Jović got an average of 15 touches p/90, this tells you about the amount of chances he was provided by his teammates, truly a disaster.

Always blaming Jović for his unnecessary out-pitch behavior, in-pitch though, he wasn’t at fault, well, maybe 20% was his fault and 80% was lack of minutes and getting provided.
Coming to the conclusion he’s not good for Madrid, is really funny when you consider all of these.

Jović gave us an example of what he’s capable of, now, all that’s needed is to give him more chances.
