Wow, last night Jussie got on IG live to speak on his own.

I can't believe it's been 2 years of this case.

This is actually a really really good discussion. Chicago BLM and Angela Davis framed it before he came in and started talking with MLH.

his team is starting arguments on a motion to dismiss today (they're not optimistic it'll be dropped though).

before you ask - he maintains his innocence, his story is unchanged, and this conversation is moreso about prosecutorial and police misconduct.

he does allude to some details that I wasn't aware of but at the end of the day, there's ongoing litigation, so he speaks in generalities.

like - there are two witnesses who corroborated him in the unsealed docs that CPD minimized and buried.

and theres allegedly additional video footage we havent seen that cuts off right before the conflict.

and he points out how Rahm emmanual put out a civil suit for $133k of overtime even though CPD had around $130 MILLION annual overtime spend. not even 1 percent.

Anyway I think it's a worthwhile watch and people can glean value from how narratives work but I know ppl like to play Columbo and do police work on their behalf. If you need i's dotted and t's crossed this won't be for you.

Last part - he makes it clear that he's not invested in his career like that anymore; if he was he would have taken a more passive route around a year ago and not stayed silent on his lawyers advice. It's something different for him now.

Also there have always been people in LA & Chicago community who have quietly believed & supported him even if they didnt do so publicly.
