Not the best photo, but this little spider
has made a shelter out of birch seeds that have been caught by its web
Whenever it’s startled, or just wants to rest, it slots itself in behind them, shielded by glass on one side & the seeds on the other. Clever! @BritishSpiders

Web-weaving spider, like this one here, are known to use found objects to build shelters or retreats, which help to protect them from environmental exposure and predation risk (e.g. https://www.pnas.org/content/105/39/14903)
Perhaps not a surprising feat, for an animal that invests so much of its physiology in brain cells. In some web weaving spiders their central nervous system takes up nearly 80% of the space in their bodies, sometimes even spilling into their legs!! https://www.nationalgeographic.com/news/2011/12/111219-spiders-big-brains-bodies-legs-webs-animals-science/
