Debunking the "Qura'an and Flat Earth" argument

(with academic references 🧵)
This myth is quite famous within the Islamophobic community, but does the Qur'an really say Earth is flat? This query can be answered from two POVs,
geodesic(3-D) and geodesic (2-D). We will limit ourselves to the use of two verses, 15:19 and 79:30 to disprove the argument.
Before disproving this, it is imminent to understand Physics to get the difference of "shapes" in space-time continuum by an observer. This is a part of "The Brief History of Time",where Hawkings vividly explains how shapes differ in a geodesic framework for different dimensions.
Thus in a two dimensional plane, something may appear to be flat or a mere straight line, but in a three-dimensional plane however, that won't be the case.
This is exactly what the Qur'an says in 15:19, when it uses the word (مَدَدْنَاهَا) to describe the 2-D curvature of Earth.
The best translation of this word would be, (بسط) according to the Qur'anic dictionary, literally meaning spread out/flattened. This is quite an obvious interpretation, because if an observer were to look at a plain from inside the planet, it would appear to be flat.
But what about geodesic 3rd-dimension? The shape of the earth when looked from the outer space, would be an irregular round shaped ellipsoid/bi-conical sphere. This is confirmed by NASA, and various renowned geologists.

So what does the Qur'an say about the shape of the Earth in 79:30? Here the word used to describe the shape is (دَحَا), which although has been translated to be spread out by some scholars, but the root's of this word would also be connotative to a different meaning.
This is Ibn Al Manzur's work on Arabic Lexicography, one of the most famous books which explains the roots of different words in Arabic language. Here, it clearly says that (دَحَا) comes from the root, (أدحية)- which would literally translate as a round shaped egg of an ostrich.
But what is the accurate description of an Ostrich's egg?
A paper published in mathematics, describes the egg of an ostrich to be a blunt-irregular shaped ellipsoid, thus almost perfectly matching to the shape of the Earth.

Thus, the Qur'an exhibits extreme accuracy when it talks about the shape of Earth. From this, we can easily come to the conclusion that the Qur'an speaks from both the POVs about the curvature (in 3-D and 2-D), and both are right at it's place as explained by Hawkings.
Note-References weren't derived from the literal English translations, but classical texts by scholars and academics were used to verify the meanings. Arabic is a vast language, and a single word could be used to imply a multi-connotative phrase.
That's how easy it is to debunk these pseudo-scholastic claims. They aren't based on any of accurate facts, but a shallow understanding of Arabic and the Qur'an usually raised by non-scholastic unqualified critics.
