Where we were all anticipating for Levi to go out in a blaze of glory, fighting to the bitter end in his final moments in fulfillment of his vow, it is Hanji who goes in his stead, fighting for precious time, acting as bait.
While we all patiently wait for Levi to lay his head down and dream of Erwin's ethereal voice welcoming him to a forgiving peace like Kenny did Uri's, it is Moblit who helps Hanji rise to their feet instead.
Isayama is a cruel man who has repeatedly driven the notion that Levi is a survivor and a sufferer at his core, and with a fast paced manga like SNK, I fear that it would be repetitive to give Levi an ending anything like Hanji's anymore.
I am afraid, fearful that he will make Levi live out his life as one of the sole survivors of the series after all the horrors that he's endured. To carry the weight of the dead in his remaining days until his old bones lay him to rest.
