A few writing tips and perspectives, if you're interested. 📖

(Journaling and goal setting).

To begin with, set a writing goal that you *know* you can achieve; lets say 200 words a day to make it simple. Then you can build on that, over time, to something like 500 words a day. But only when you've found your feet, rhythm and routine. By doing that, you're creating lots+
of small, manageable chunks, and the whole process itself doesn't seem as overwhelming. Leaving room for that all-important imagination to get to work! As well as that, you are enabling yourself to set aside time. So then you don't spend as much energy beating yourself up over+
what you haven't done - giving your imagination even more freedom. You need to be spending your time thinking about characters and plotting. Not how much ironing is piling up. Or worst still, how much you want to write, but you haven't even started because you're too busy+
worrying. And so starts the vicious cycle - round and round - until you give up completely. Instead, I would suggest focusing on the effort put in, rather than just the results. That way, it might be easier to realise that you'll get to your end goal, eventually. +
Writing takes a lot of time and effort whether you write a 100 or a 1000 words a day. Take my writing this thread, as an example; if I spend five minutes mulling over five sentences. How much better would it make the overall piece? That's compared with rattling through +
the whole thread in five minutes. Every little helps. Bit by bit, piece by piece. Everything comes together.

Another idea that links with this is starting a journal. It could help you flesh out fragmented ideas, and process thoughts differently. +
Helping you come up with fresh concepts - that you might not have thought of otherwise. It could also be a place to experiment with different writing styles - without it directly affecting your WIP. At the same time, not losing the positive ways this +
could improve your writing (tone, imagery etc.) and general experience. Stretching yourself equals better writing.

Please let me know if there's anything I could expand on.
