writers! what are your favorite tricks/techniques in writing, to make your pieces sound more sophisticated?

please share; who knows, maybe we can learn a thing or two from each other! :D
already a lot of good advice under this tweet, but let me still share mine :D

[these are things i do, or try to do]

▪Pay attention to the sound of the sentences. There are ways to make it fit the tone you want, just using its rhythms and cadences, or with alliteration, etc.
^ in the above image, I was trying to manipulate the consonant sounds to establish an alliterative feel: "un[F]ettered by her [F]ears of him [F]orsaking her again."

Another technique is to vary the lengths of your clauses; it generally makes everything easier on the ears.
▪Don't be afraid to delete stuff. Less is more, and restraint will likely elicit a more powerful emotional response.

▪You can absolutely formulate your own metaphors, instead of using the old ones we know. These new comparisons, when executed well, could be such gifts,
because they offer new perspectives on things we might have already taken for granted ♡
▪Have drafts, and be patient with them. We don't usually make it great on the first try. So we have to go over it again, trusting in the process.

[Yun lamang po; maraming salamat kung binasa ninyo hanggang dito hahaha]
