So how is it the POTUS, having the same intel as Dr. Fauci (remember they were meeting in January already) gets raked over the coals for trying to keep the public from panicking, but Dr. Fauci gets a pass for doing the same?

Is there any intellectual consistency left?

Think about this: if Trump knew in Jan. the virus was more dangerous than they led on, Fauci knew this too. He's stated that they were wrong in Jan/Feb because China wasn't being honest. This tape suggests Fauci was also not being forthright which is probably why he defended DT
