1.Nearly 4 decades ago I was one of eight pilots sent to bomb the Osirak nuclear reactor in Iraq. https://bit.ly/3bLrMKY 

2. By approving that mission, PM Begin established a doctrine that no country calling for Israel's destruction can be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons - and Israel has maintained that policy since.

3. In 2007, I was chief of MI when the Begin Doctrine once more instructed Israeli policy and led to the elimination of the Syrian reactor in al-Kibar (I recommend @yaakovkatz book on the subject which you can find here: https://www.amazon.com/Shadow-Strike-Israels-Mission-Eliminate/dp/1250191270).

4. Over the past decade and a half, the validity of the Doctrine has been and continues to be tested by the Iran nuclear program.
