Unpopular opinion:

Decentralized Governance is a meme

Most “DeFi” projects that use “DAOs”/dGov as a tagline have superficial interest or understanding

What they’re after is much simpler: minimize exposure to regulatory risks

Thread 🧵

1/
Decentralized Governance is fundamentally different to small team or even large corp governance

In many cases I’d recommend avoiding going the DAO path to be able to move fast, decide on changes

If you do go down the DAO path tho, do it right, there are fantastic references

2/
The reason doing real DAOs are hard is the complexity expansion

Working with innovative tech is challenging already, now add to that:

- Community gardening
- Collaborative decision making
- Micro attention economics (FYI, attention is a resource)
- Extreme transparency

3/
DAOs data and resources to help guid preferences + informed decisions

DAOs being a new alternative organizations are by definition creative and general purpose

The DAO space is a rabbit hole in itself, I strongly suggest that if you’re genuinely intending to incorporate DAO elements into your project, consult with a DAO nerd out there

The DAO space is fascinating and inspiring creativity
