👆 Literally. As he's telling Woodward how serious it is, this is happening. And it gets worse.

Instead of having the CDC deal with these repatriated Americans, they decide to have HHS/Administration of Children and Families (ACF) personnel handle it.
So to recap:
-knows we're dealing with something serious
-mixes infected people with healthy people on a flight from China
-sends untrained employees without PPE to meet them and process them
-those employees then scatter around the country after being exposed
-we find out later
Basically: he knew it was incredibly deadly, and had known for some time. Instead of doing anything to stop it, he threw gasoline on the fire.
Not only does he throw gas on the fire, he hampers efforts to put it out.

The same day that he's telling Woodward how deadly it is, Richard Bright is ringing alarm bells about PPE.
He warns that the federal government needs to place orders to ramp up production of N95 masks in order to protect healthcare workers and first responders. An HHS supply chain team pushes back, saying there was “no indication of a supply chain shortage or of issues with masks."
So to recap again:
-Trump knows it's deadly and says so
-a bunch of infected Americans mixed with healthy Americans during repatriation, despite warnings not to
-untrained officials meet infected plane with no PPE, then fly commercial all around the country
-warnings ignored about PPE shortage

All on the same day.

Guess what happens the next day?
