til R U OK Day came out of a "leadership program" run by Landmark, a corporate education outfit with links to cults and allegations of cult-like treatment of students. https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/real-life/news-life/landmark-forum-mysterious-training-course-coming-to-your-office/news-story/59b95a445f1049228b8ea7863ac183f3
It's worth noting that, despite denying any links to Scientology or New Age cults, the practice of providing training or support services to naive corporate executives as a way of recruiting new marks is a well-established cult tactic (and one shared by R U OK Day too
)

I'm not saying R U OK Day is run by a cult or even that Landmark is a cult - neither are - but they along with most of the corporate self-help sector draw their business model and what they teach from New Age cults as much as mainstream research.
