BLM, Christianity, and Witchcraft: A thread about what’s going on.
So I first wanna say that I’ll never deny that things that seem friendly in this world are inherently demonic. It’s literally the way things are (Eph. 6:12). But I do feel like making a generalization of something of a people based off what an alleged leader says is bad. Contd.
When #TrayvonMartin was murdered, America was shocked with the verdict of his murderer. People began taking to the streets everywhere, and screaming #BlackLivesMatter . Because in his case and in a lot of cases, they hadn’t Contd.
This wasn’t the first unjust death of a black person by police however, as they have been happening since the institution of law enforcement was created. I mean, the police were literally made to incarcerate blacks so they could be slaves in prison again. Contd.
So like any money hungry smart person does in America does, they profited off Black Trauma. Soon an organization with the name #BlackLivesMatter appeared and began to take credit and donations whenever a Black American was murdered. Contd.
With seemingly good intentions, they soon became the alleged face of the movement, which allowed people who didn’t agree with the movement to look at them for justifiable reason. In all reality a lot of black people don’t like the founders of BLM (i.e.) Shaun King. Contd.
So us as black people did what we always have done, “You do you, and ima do me. Just don’t get in my way” so then there became a clear line seperating BLM the organization, and BLM the statement and sentiment. Contd.
What does this have to do with Christianity and witchcraft? Good question, les get it! Contd.
As recent as a couple weeks ago, a video surfaced about members and Leaders of BLM the org saying “We chant the fallen’s names to essentially let them work through us and get the work done.” Openly admitting to the practice of witchcraft in the name of justice. Contd.
Christians for the most part took this and ran because of Leviticus 19:31. And rightfully so, I mean witchcraft is a sin so that’s what GOD said about that. Boom we move. But; where a lot of Christians misstepped and misspoke is saying anyone who partakes is in agreement. Contd.
But that isn’t fair, reasonable, or sensible. Black America is hurting. And hurting bad, we have been oppressed for the last 400 years and any attempt to fight back was always met with extreme measures. Even in the most peaceful manners. I mean, Dr. King was shot. Contd.
So to generalize a people’s claim for freedom and equality as demonic is EXTREMELY tone deaf. Like man. Moses literally said to the powers that where, “LET MY PEOPLE GO.” Need I say more? Lol. Contd.
With the leaders saying “we say their names to channel their spirits,” that is bad. But in no way is remembering the fallen a sin. We literally remember Stephen as the first martyr, Moses as the great liberator, and Abraham as our Father. Contd.
“But they were sent by GOD” And it is our job as children of GOD to lead the lost to Him. We should mourn any soul who maybe didn’t get the chance to know Jesus. Also it is our job as the church to stand for the oppressed. (Isa. 1:17) Contd.
Finally, when someone claims they don’t believe in Christianity because of phony Christians and pastors, we are swift to defend our faith and alienate ourselves from them. Please extend that same compassion from yourself to those seeking change in a broken world. Contd.
A lot of these people marching aren’t there for demonic purposes, and even if they were, they are doing more for the world than the church even wants to do. They need Jesus and want to live in a better world. Contd.
Get off your pedestal and get in the trenches. Have a blessed day and GOD bless you.
