I don't know why I need to keep saying this even in leftist circles. If you are concerned about climate change, as everyone should be, then you should care about issues surrounding Indigenous people. The two are inherently tied together. I am so tired of people being so unaware.
Like, do you all really not see the ecological disaster the border wall is causing on O'odham lands? Do you not see the diseases that have come out of mining pollution on O'odham, Navajo, & Ndee lands? What about what oil companies are doing to Native lands in the Dakotas?
Then there's California & for that matter a lot of the west coast which forbade California tribes from the practice of controlled burns to where these fires get worse every year. Why do you continue to talk about climate change WITHOUT talking about Indigenous rights? How?
And let's not stop there actually. You wanna talk about how Canada is so much better? Well actually, do you know how much resource extraction has done to permanently pollute/damage Native land there? In case you were thinking of heading that way & being a settler there.
