Many thoughts here. The first is, Antifa and BLM are visibly attempting to overthrow the government.

Yet the complaint centers on White Supremacists and Russian influence.

Isn't it odd that a DHS intelligence leader would downplay Antifa and BLM?
"Rep. Adam Schiff, chairman of the House Intel Committee, released the complaint, which he said contained 'grave and disturbing' allegations."

This is the same Adam Schiff who insisted that "Russiagate" and "Ukrainegate" were real, when they were fake.

Under Secretary of Homeland Security for Intelligence and Analysis:

President Bush - 4
President Obama - 4
President Trump - 5
This part of the complaint centers on the argument that Murphy was directed to "censor or manipulate...intelligence information" for the purpose of providing information to Congress - of course this would not be proper.

"Mr. Glawe informed Mr. Murphy that instructions...had been issued for Mr. Murphy to ensure the intelligence
assessments...supported the policy argument that large
numbers of KSTs were entering the United States through the southwest border."

Obviously, you can't tell the person responsible for making an assessment that he should alter that assessment.
That's exactly why I have trouble believing he was ordered to do so.
The job of the Congressional Research Service is to help prepare agencies for hearings. Those preparations explicitly involve the development of a positive narrative about agency accomplishments.

This is not the same as altering the truth.
"The Congressional Research Service (CRS) can assist in

framing the agenda for hearings...supplying information on program accomplishments; providing information on positions of interest groups and other key players; and
conducting database searches." https://www.everycrsreport.com/reports/RL30548.html
It used to be part of my job (not my current job) to help prepare for Congressional hearings. We had to develop tough questions and tough answers and sit there while witnesses practiced answering them.

That is called a "murderboard" session.
Nobody would call that lying. You're supposed to provide truthful, comprehensive, responsive, specific answers. You are allowed to emphasize what you're doing right.
I used to manage the DHS/CBP magazine, "Frontline." The purpose of the magazine is to explain agency operations, with an emphasis on positive accomplishments. That isn't the same as altering or censoring.

There are other angles to develop here.

More later, hopefully.
It's curious to me that Murphy studied for a Master's in Islamic Studies but doesn't see a threat of radical Islamic terrorism in this country. Rather he is focused on the Russian threat.

Also he studies at Georgetown, which is notoriously leftist.
Murphy says he prepped then-Secretary Nielsen for testimony by explaining the difference between KSTs (known and suspected terrorists) and SIAs (special interest aliens - much larger category). He says she/DHS provided false information during and after testifying.
This is the video. What was false? That is a serious accusation.
Murphy says that DHS was trying to pump up the threat in order to support POTUS. He says they sought to conflate KSTs (few) and SIAs (many) in order to do that.
