I'm tired of police officers who have literally had nothing bad happen to them complain about how scary and dangerous their job is when someone criticizes the police.

I'm also tired of people saying that policing isn't dangerous.
Most people haven't had to live some of the horrors my family had to go through when Roger was still The Cop. He got shot at, someone tried to stab him, someone injured him so badly he couldn't patrol for months, and countless other incidents. He lived, but that was dangerous.
But do you know what? Those dangerous things don't give us the right to treat the public like they are the enemy. When SO MANY PEOPLE are shouting about injustice, how could we NOT listen?
Roger got a ton of grief from other police officers for wanting to reach out to the community and for saying that Black Lives Matter.
Good officers are leaving police departments, but not for the reasons people think. Good officers who want to be part of the conversation and advocate for change are being pushed out.
Officers who believe in the causes of Black Lives Matter are shunned and mocked by their co-workers.
And this is not universally true, of course, but it happens enough that there is a serious problem. And of course, when the largest police organization in the nation supports Donald Trump, that just adds fuel to the fire.
In conclusion, even though policing is dangerous, it doesn't give them right to treat the public like they are the enemy.
