I met a trans kid on zoom today, b/c I'm working w/his mom.
Him: "Did you know that I am a trans person!"
Me: "You are!? Did you know that I'm *also* a trans person!"
Him: Are you transitioning to be a boy or a girl?"
Me : "A girl. Everybody thought I was a boy for a long time."

This was the best, happiest, most wonderful thing that happened to me today.

Hopefully, today's trans kids grow up to inhabit a world where their careers won't be derailed on account of their identities, where getting fired for being trans is unthinkable.
