I decided that if I wanted someone to start a thread on favorite books about storms, I should start one myself. This particular thread is for Atlantic hurricanes.

I begin with the #GalvestonHurricane of 1900. All 3 of these are good; the 3rd focuses more on the rebuilding.
Here is a great book on Hurricane Camille, focusing on the Gulf coast impacts.
This book on #Camille gives equal time to the impacts in Virgina as well as those on the coast.
Moving to the Atlantic coast, this is a very little-known storm that hit South Carolina’s and Georgia’s sea islands in 1893. It was also the Red Cross’s first hurricane emergency response. Thin book but well worth the read.
