Why was deemed consent brought in in England? #OrganDonationWeek
Deemed consent doesn't apply to every - there are exclusions #OrganDonationWeek
Exclusion No.1 - Deemed consent doesn't apply if there's a known decision #OrganDonationWeek
Exclusion No.2 - Age. You have to be over 18 for deemed to apply BUT donation can still go ahead for paediatric donors #OrganDonationWeek
Exclusion No.3 - Mental Capacity. You have to have lacked capacity to understand the legislation for 12 months prior to death. #OrganDonationWeek
Exclusion No4. - Residence. You have to live and die in England, lived here for at least 12 months and living here must be part of the regular order of your life. #OrganDonationWeek
