Parents and guardians of Ontario,

#OntEd is on right now, & the arsonists are @fordnation and @Sflecce.

You need to know that any fires being put out in the next school year solely come as a result of the unbelievable dedication, creativity, & perseverance of ed workers.

@realsarahpolley, @ONT_Dad, @melissagrelo...you wouldn't believe what is happening today. Teachers, administrators, secretaries, caretakers, EAs, ECEs, CYWs...the list goes on with ed workers who are holding this thing together through sheer willpower.

But we need people to know the truth. Our supposed Minister of Education will continue to take record contemplative walks, reminding us that the responsibility for any coming failures in reopening belong to us, and not to him and his team that have "done everything they can."

Lies.

The @OntarioPCParty owns this. They own it all, & they areto own it, bc that's exactly what they want: to "own" education in Ontario. They are looking to sell off our world-class public ed system to their golf buds and fellow board members. Privatization is the end game.

Please remember that parallel to the very real disaster narrative of reopening schools during a pandemic runs the very real pathway of disaster capitalism. When pieces of public ed are stretched beyond function and begin to fail, this government won't bolster with funding.

They won't even fund small class sizes, despite everyone knowing that #SmallerIsSafer. And let's be real. They will never fund such class sizes, bc that would strengthen this system even further, and offer a new reality that families and students would hold onto for dear life.

The end game is to rip the system apart. Find the threads and pull. Never forget who our premier's role model is (aka. Mike Harris). Never forget what Harris' MoE - Snobelin - was caught on camera saying...that PC govs should "bankrupt" public ed by creating "useful crisis".

Well, isn't this Snobelin's dream scenario. The current PC govm't didn't even need to invent a crisis; they've had a very real one served up to them on a silver platter.

So please don't forget these things. Please continue to demand more from this government. Please fight for #OntEd the way #OntEd is fighting for your kids.

The future of public education in this province depends on it. Sounds melodramatic. It isn't. It's true.

Do your part.
Call your MPP.
Tell them you are pissed and you won't vote for them ever again unless they change course.
Get involved.
We need you.
