I'm happy for people who quit toxic workplaces, because I know how toxic working under ArGo can be. Human beings don't deserve to be treated like that. But quitting is not heroism. It's self preservation.
On the point of why-would-you-even-join -- fair question. As a person who did join him and quit several years ago, my honest answer is:

1. Ignorance brought on by privilege.

2. Villains don't control minions only with force or money.
For a long time, no matter how horribly I was treated or my colleagues were treated, I defended him, to myself. Even after I quit. I thought hey, he taught me stuff and he was 'nice' to me and he was afterall, 'human'. It took time and distance to see
How much I had been manipulated and how wrong I was, and the consequences of my 'mistakes' were in the real world.

The dog biscuits we were fed from time to time were enough to make us feel he was a 'good' person, worth emulating.
He knows what his minions care about, and he knows how to feed them lies and bullshit. You care about feminism? He'll show you he's a feminist when you least expect it. You feel like an outsider? He knows how to make you believe you're 'included'.
Does that mean the minions, like I was at one point, deserve sympathy?

No.

As adults, as privileged adults, it's our burden to unlearn and find our feet.
So if the people who quit believe they deserve awards -- no we don't. We escaped a terrible workplace, but we helped create a terrible world. And it's our job to understand that and do the work to counter the demons we've released into the world.
Adding to say: No, I did not work at RTV. I worked at Times Now, and I'm not one of the people quitting now. It was many years ago.
