Lessons in staying home if you have flu like symptoms #covid19
. @VeraEtches just described to city council one person with flu like symptoms who attended a cottage party
10 people attended the cottage party, one person had flu like symptoms...in turned out to be #covid19
One person turned into 40 says @VeraEtches after @ottawahealth did intense contact tracing
Over 9 days...people from the cottage party went back to work...shopping...restaurants...not knowing they were spreading #covid19 from the cottage party. One sick person thought it was just a cold.
Ultimately, two childcare centres had to shut down. People had to be hospitalized. Vulnerable people became ill. All because one person went to a cottage on a nice summer weekend...and decided to fight through a cold. Instead they spread #COVID19
I know people get tired of hearing it...but we all need to stay home...get tested...and make sure we're not spreading this thing. Ottawa is a hotspot. We don't have to be. Don't go to the party, or work...or anywhere if you're feeling ill. And go get a test for #COVID19

Stay home. Don't go to the party. Don't have a party. If we want to have a decent return to school that all our kids need. More tonight @ctvottawa
One person with flu like symptoms...turned into 40 cases of #COVID19 closed childcare centres, and people in hospital. It doesn't have to be this way...
