1/ With opening kickoff one day away, here's a thread with five Showdown DFS tips:

Don't ignore Vegas.

Last year, 58.97% of the field used a Vegas favorite at the Captain spot compared to 74.76% for top 1% finishers.
2/ Unique Roster Construction

The field most commonly builds teams with 3 players from each team. You can immediately be more likely to be unique by considering other builds.
3/ (ctd.) As @2Hats1Mike once said, a unique ‘bad’ lineup is better than a heavily duplicated ‘good’ lineup.

The best way to have a positive long-term expectation in top-heavy contests is to take as many possible shots at a solo 1st place finish
4/ Run It Back Stacks

In 2019, an opposing QB, WR or TE was included in 88.89% of winning lineups that rostered a QB, WR or TE from the other team at captain.

Set a group to include at least one of these players in such lineups.
5/ How to Handle Kickers

While ignored in traditional DFS, they do play a role in Showdown.

In 2019, kickers were over twice as likely to make the top 6 scorers in low scoring (sub 35 pts) games vs shootouts (over 49 pts).
