Murder specifically requires intent.

Failure to prevent death in some circumstances may also be considered murder once there is an intention to let the person die 📝 .
Manslaughter does not necessarily require intent. It can be voluntary or involuntary.

Voluntary - there is a desire to kill due to some mitigating circumstances (e.g. provocation)

Involuntary - conduct where there was no intention to kill, but death did in fact occur
Here are some typical examples which can provide some clarity 😊.
While the punishment for murder is the mandatory death penalty in most of our Commonwealth Caribbean jurisdiction, manslaughter results in imprisonment. #LegalFacts
