K-12 Nationwide) we rarely complete an entire lesson/assignment without pause and assessment for those that need instruction delivered another way for better understanding. This type of learning is not meant to be an entire curriculum -
- it is meant to supplement curriculum and in person instruction. Give yourself and your children some slack- LIKE A LOT of slack! It’s good to have high expectations but don’t set the bar so high that you and your children walk away feeling defeated
or frustrated because that is when progress and learning stops!!!
Take breaks!!! Lots and lots of breaks! Give yourself permission to break from the schedule that they have given, if need be. IF ANYONE questions what or why you are doing this -you tell them

Oh- and celebrate progress!!! Any and all progress!!!!! The only way to get through it is to recognize that it is all brand new and any win is a WIN no matter how small.

It could be celebrating a smooth log in with no technical interruptions- sitting through an entire lesson without tears (ONE lesson) or the first half of a lesson (building stamina). Seriously- lower the bar and don’t stress yourself out about doing that!
Teachers rarely hit the mark with every lesson- Most of our planning is spent recognizing what we need to reteach. Timelines and standards based learning is only to build a baseline for actual instruction - the kids direct how far you truly get in the classroom
and that is only done with A LOT of modification and restructuring of the instruction for the day- month and year.
