#1 We live in a society...: The nuanced portrayal of characters living in a prejudiced and misinformed society, mirroring the real world amidst a fairytale-like setup

#2 Care for the carers: the writing speaks with raw honesty to experiences of family members of people living with mental health issues w/o making romanticized caricatures of them.

#3 Parenting and childhood trauma: a groundbreaking take in a society as filial and hierarchical as SoKor (but a universal reality too) to portray parents as fallible humans who may have unforgivably scarred their children for life.
#4 Trauma as a theme: its meaningful treatment of the tension between remembering and blissful ignorance, of trauma victims' fight-or-flight responses to memories or abusers themselves.

#5 Patients at the hospital and their backstories: TL;DR WHY I CRIED MY EYES OUT AT FINDING THE REAL FACE
IOTNBO is as much about the patients as it is abt the trio; my heart ached and was so full by the end bc of them

#6 On neurodiversity and psychopathology: PBIO > IOTNBO for me at least
Still a debate even among my psych frens whether KMY has ASPD, but I do appreciate threads like this: https://twitter.com/doepikapadukone/status/1299102158021963777
Regardless, IOTNBO is such a HUGE win for neurodiversity on TV.

#7 There's linear nor singular path to healing: why our characters took time to seek professional help (if at all), just like real people do.

#8 IOTNBO and the battle to face my own
I'm a Masters student with only a thesis between me and my degree; but it's been months since I wrote a word.
But IOTNBO inspired me to take the first step in my own process of overcoming. If the Moon trio can, so can we. Fighting!
