Tip #2 don't be afraid to screw up! Just because things aren't going to plan doesn't mean they aren't fun. Mistakes you know you are making most of the time will go completely unnoticed by the characters.
Tip #3 losing can sometimes be a better plot point than winning. Nothing drives home hatred for the antagonist like a loss.
Tip #4 the rule of cool exists for a reason! If something seems awesome but kinda breaks the rules who cares!
Tip #5 do not over prepare! Focus on your world and how it works. Only write for the next session or two and keep big goals as bullet points. You will have a lot of wasted effort if you write up a whole arc and it's avoided by your characters.
Tip# 6 representation matters even in home games! Use diverse characters in your stories and your world will seem much more alive. It will also make your players more comfortable!
