My family has been in the business of medicine for 100 years. My grandfather was a giant of medicine. There’s a plaque of him hanging at @umichmedicine. He gave his kids some of the first polio doses and saved my dad’s life with one of the first civilian uses of penicillin. 1/

Since then, there have always been doctors in our family. I myself have seen amazing advances. My generation of pediatricians employed new vaccines to eliminate entire categories of childhood disease. I’m especially proud of us essentially eradicating bacterial meningitis. 2/

As a result, I am utterly unable to understand the anti-science luddites fools who are “skeptical” of this amazing new world of medical science. When approved (and they will be approved) these covid vaccines will save millions. Nothing like this has ever happened before. 3/

They will be the result of literally millions of people’s efforts and an achievement that stands on a century of research and clinical efforts by scientists and doctors whose names will never be famous. Anyone who tries to undermine that for political gain is scum. 4/

This week, @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris decided to spread fear and doubt about one of the most miraculous human scientific achievements in history. It’s utterly sick and self centered. Anyone who agrees with them or defends this should be shunned. 5/5
