Here's the thing about the Cuban American vote in SF. Like many immigrants to America they've subscribed to anti-blackness by choice. They're told in order to be successful to make sure they don't embrace black people or what black people do. What do many black people do?

Many black people vote Democrat. You'd be surprised how many people don't do certain things in life because it's associated with black people. I had a white guy tell me his coworker traded in his muscle car because he saw too many black people were driving them too.

This is why African-Americans are a unique group and can't be interchanged with people of color. We catch it from all sides, even from people who look just like us.
