I was born & raised in Salem Lafayette Court and it's not notorious. Small pockets of crime happens there but we can say that for any community across this nation that lack resources and deals with socioeconomic issues.

I'm going to talk about the empathy gap. Short thread. https://twitter.com/SarahLigon/status/1303515211421360129
Empathy Gap. Back in June 2020, there was a shooting on Union st, 4 people got shot. One died, one paralyzed, the other two stable and many traumatized. Sad right, but what's also sad, Jersey City elected officials didn't have a press conference to address the residents concerns.
So this leaves us wondering why. If elected officials are really concerned about violence, they would've address the issue, on many occasions. This is the empathy gap. Jersey City administration only address issues if news is likely to big media coverage. This is a problem.
