An off-the-cuff question from a colleague that has been niggling at me.

There are definitely more Quality people talking about mental health issues on https://www.ministryoftesting.com/dojo/topics/mental-health than in other forums.

For me the need to be constantly alert and willing stick my head over the parapet with (potentially unpopular) opinions / questions / comments on risk is draining.

Part of training/growing quality people is growing that resilience to keep speaking up.
Part of training a quality mindset in other engineers is therefore training them to listen and give space to those speaking up.

Are the hits on mental health and energy a part of the Software Quality specialism?
By promoting Whole Team Quality will those hits reduce? Or be shared out between more bodies?
Or am I imagining it/biased and Quality Specialists don't need to be more resilient than others
