My premier league predictions thread (non-bias):
Top 4:
5-8:
9-12:
13-16:
Bottom 4:
Top goal scorer: Aubameyang (30)
He destroys the league with the better service he got this season, he hitnumbers better than the past two seasons before he bowed out at the Emirates.
Best signing: Kai Havertz
He became the main creator for Chelsea and racked up the assists with the likes of Werner ahead of him.
POTY: Raheem Sterling
Main reason city won the league was because Raz had his best season and was unstoppable at times during the season. Finally became that player to rely on in big moments as he against both United and Liverpool.
YPOTY: Mason Greenwood
The Man United youngster became a starter next to martial and rashford for Man United midway through the season, they didn’t get sancho in the summer but Greenwood came in and performed incredibly.
Worst signing: Pierre-Emile Hojberg
He tried his hardest when Mourinho had to rely on him after midfield options such as Alli, Ndombele, and Lo Celso were injured, but in the big away games like Man City, Liverpool, and Chelsea, he underperformed and looked out of his depth.
Biggest underachiever: Jamie Vardy
Age and injuries finally caught up to the former champion as he hit his lowest tally in the premier league since 2016/17.
The dark horse: Everton
They bought in a whole new midfield in the window, some with no EPL experience, but Ancelotti got his team to work with a good balance and they managed to get big wins against the teams around them like Leicester and Wolves.
The comeback: Fulham and West Brom came back up to the premier and struggled to cope at this level with their lack of quality, but Leeds found their gear under Bielsa and looked like they belonged at this level. Once the fans were allowed back, Leeds were dragged through games.
Villa go down again: Aston Villa relied on Jack Grealish too heavily and on too many occasions he was their only outlet for their attack, Samatta and Wesley were poor for most of the season and Villa’s lack of goals meant they were always up against it, two midlands teams go down
Season conclusion:
- City beat Liverpool to title
- Auba beats Kane, but Mourinho beats Arteta
- Lampard’s Chelsea stall
- Blades go back to reality
- Leeds are back
- The midlands fall down
- Hodgson and Zaha get palace 10th
- Newcastle just stay Newcastle
