Here it goes- You first plan leave from whatever occupation you are into. Then, once that's approved by your so called boss which would undoubtedly include a lot of nah-nah and a lot of deliberation, you start tracking the movements of different Tigers in the country.
Check which Jungle is performing well on the sightings..This task takes a toll on you as you get mixed reviews and information. That's when you use your gut feeling and decide which part of the country you would travel.
Then contact pple & get like minded individuals to join you, to reduce costs and to have a good company.
Then comes D day when you reach after having at-least 3 different modes of transport over more than 12-14 hrs which includes 1 sleepless night in my case as I reside in Goa.

Check your equipment, get it out from the dry box, clean it. If required service the bodies & lenses. Invariable you end up buying a couple of expensive storage cards on every trip. Also, buy a few camouflage clothes (happens with me before every trip).
Then you enter the jeep with all your gear and as soon as the driver gives a crank to the engine, you pray. And you keep praying at the back of the mind to the gods of the jungle for that one sighting.. thats not enough- that one sighting in GOOD light!
Then that split second luck comes true for which you have put in all the effort and in that split second, you get your camera settings right for a correct exposure and perfect focus. Then in that split second you compose the image in a way that its visually appealing.
Then, when the tiger goes away, you smile give high fives and console that one guy in the jeep who got the focus wrong
and move on..
Then you go home, transfer the bucket full of photos from the blitz on the shutter on the hard drive

& chose that one perfect shot which was better than the others. See its like a sperm.. Out of a million the strongest gets to live.
While I was writing this I didn't realize I would compare that one good shot to a sperm
