hm....i want to address some of the mistranslations from siegfeld's school story, wrt michiru & akira's conversation
in english it's far more harshly worded imo. for "are you so socially inept?" (この朴念仁!) though literally meaning quiet, unsociable person, in this case it's used like "you blockhead!" as she encourages akira to see how this invitation would put shiori in a difficult position
one of the worst ones is this line, they've put it in english as "get that through your head!" when really she says "理解してよね", "please understand"
lines like "are you talking back to me?" can be interpreted like "do you have an answer?" etc, i think the translation team just wanted to make it seem harsher for dramatic effect. imo, though in general the conversation seems harsh i chalk it up to old writing

i honestly don't feel like michiru bullies akira and i don't think akira sees it this way either; she's mentioned on multiple occasions how grateful she is to michiru for counselling it, for not letting her slack and for her extra insight that helps to guide her.
akira very much still acts on her own actions and will go against michiru when she feels like it. michiru is always acting in her best interests, knowing how serious her role as king is, and is desperate to see akira fulfill it in the way she knows akira herself wants to.
if you look at events like the dying king and noblesse that've done such a good job on exploring both of their characters and their relationship, their words here make sense and they've since come a long way!
overall akira is really stubborn but also really perceptive! she doesn't get enough credit for this. however, michiru knows this and helps her by pointing out her oversights.
having michiru tell her (tho, bluntly) is a way to guide her, that akira says she's thankful for.

i'm just rambling now but i know so many of people's bitter feelings about michiru are based on this exchange. just want people to be aware of the nuances in translation and their growth since this conversation - they care for and understand each other so much.
she's far from perfect. she acts on insecurity and is doing what she thinks is best to achieve their shared goals. tho this isn't always conveyed in the best way (esp if you can't empathise with michiru's thinking here) she really does have akira's best interest at heart.
