Today's first panel at #UACES2020 is really very exciting: 'Narratives of Brexit in the European Public Sphere'. A critical discursive approach to Brexit-related discourse, assessing the impact of discourses on the 'reimagination' of the EU project.

First presentation is about blame assignment in the Czech and Slovak political discourse of Brexit. Seems to speak well to Tom Hunter's fabulous paper yesterday on credit sharing and blaming in UK politics. #UACES2020

Monika finds that Czech discourse exploits Brexit systematically to argue against EU integration and EU institutions while Slovakia blames the UK for damage done to the EU project. She explains the more positive Slovak discourse reflects that it had the EU presidency #UACES2020
