Hey! How y’all doing? Y’all tired, me too, its late, but u know demon time is kinda where I flourish...I didn’t wanna have to make a thread about this cause - I’m that tired...
...but I see the ppl still havin’ big fun *Claire voice* & prioritizing socials currencies like “being seen/sickening” over their health/the health of those they’ll come into contact with.
& yes – it bothers me – it’s a fucking global pandemic, it’s bothering everyone.
So, disclaimer – every sermon ain’t for you, treat this just like that; eat the meat & spit out the bones. If facts spliced with my inconvenient ass opinions isn’t your thing, I get it.
Feel free to dislike, unsubscribe, unfollow, mute, block, bay at the moon, take a bottle of rush to the head, w/e. I already know the list of reads/subs ppl will have in response lol.
This is for those toeing the line; I don’t expect to rattle those who’ve been devoted to the perceived recklessness we’ve seen. I’m removed from trying to coerce ppl into action by brow beating/attempting to admonish. Just trying to use any influence I do have, where I can.
So, yea wow...we’re tired, right - imagine how you gonna feel...let’s say come March. God willing this election goes right (& it’s legit around the corner), it’s the end of January before Orange Crush is gone, & we should expect him to cut tf up.
So, Biden/Harris step in (late January), let’s say hypothetically before a vaccine (*more on that later) & now we have to do the work as a country that we haven’t done since this landed. That’ll be 6-8 weeks of a true lockdown - so, hey March 2021.
But before that…FLU SZN. Yeah, she’s been totally on the sidelines waiting to tag back in & ravage the ppl, even while havin a vaccine. Lady Enza is textin the Vid very much askin who all is @ the function before she pushes thro. Seasonal affect is gonna be on 1000 this F/W.
& speakin of F/W/S/S/joggers – yeah that’s how this vaccine is lookin. Shit still sittin in Phase 3 human trials, w. setbacks as recent as TODAY, w. only 2, viable front runners in Moderna & Pfizer, & as y’all have heard, there are issues w. the sample population being diverse.
But you know, miracles – let’s say all that goes well, & by Oct/Nov 20’ we have somethin definitive for the vaccine to get approved, which btw is lookin sketchy because we don’t know if the antibodies produced create any permanent immunity, & w/o immunity a vaccine won’t work.
So, – under the best circumstances, which includes a mandated, potentially shotty vaccine/suppressant, already mired by supply chain & logistical issues, we could see delivery of something resembling a vaccine by January 21’.
But we still have to make it through the fall; its September, were at 195k with models showing 300k by Dec, & 410 by January - & I’m not tryna see Bone Thugz this holiday season.
We have an administration in place that has erroneously forecasted/low balled the death toll, & we, the people, keep working against our own interests, & pushing our goalposts out of reach.
I mean, I get – we’re collectively grieving the lives we had before & a certain segment of the population seem to still be dead center in the denial phase. & trust me, I get it, I am READY FOR THIS TO BE OVER. Am I gonna storm the first post covid function with my homies?

I had trips planned, had my summer body ready for no reason, etc. & let’s be real, I was gonna no show must of y’all invites, but more than anything I miss the ability to do that. I miss the ability to be mindless about certain things; the freedom…the autonomy.
& it’s hard/stressful, being this hyperaware, forgetting your masks, grilling anyone who coughs, remembering what you touched last, etc. Walking into a function as the 11th person & now you gotta church tip back out.
Slowly pulling your mask back on to your face cause your friend doesn’t understand personal space. Hella awkward.
& don’t mention dating or screwing – I’m ready to explode like a Chick-fil-a condiment in a junk drawer. But the thing is – we’re in this together, right-ish?
Eh.
We’re not & it’s the flagrant celebration of noncompliance for me. The national tours with bareback faces for me. It’s open equaling “safe to frolic” for me.
With masks being the one thing everyone is agreeing on working to slow the pandemics progression – it’s the one thing some of us refuse to be seen in.
& I’ve seen all manner of philosophical gymnastics at play to make it all math, but LORD it ain’t. I’d rather ppl just say they don’t care & we can open the door for Darwinism.
Maybe it’s a lack of understanding, of empathy; maybe it has to hit home, or maybe some ppl are just indifferent to other people’s suffering when it impacts their pleasure?
& I’m so tired of “why do you care?” & I get the isolationist schools of thought – but my question is now: why don’t you?
It’s an airborne pandemic with no cure or current vaccination in sight, & we’re being led through it by a corrupt, functionally inept administration headed up by a narcissistic sociopath. How is anyone okay with that?
Every country that’s had a modicum of success fighting this is because they viewed themselves as a collective – from the government down. It was EVERYBODY’S business.
So, this whole thing about ppl being in your business while you’re out traipsing, having fun, & that having more capital than ppl being concerned about your welfare, general wellness, humanity, & a preventable contagion that stopped the world….I.
& really, no one is concerned or trying to track your movements/posted content; you’re not that important, none of us are – but this moment is. But what is garnering attn, however, & is your actions executed against the backdrop of the worst infectious disease crisis since 1919.
It’s wild how we dissent with the president’s actions, but adopt Trumpian philosophies (undermining the truth, ignoring facts, conflation, etc) when it’s convenient for our social narratives. Shit, at least he got the oval outta this. What you getting? Likes? RTs? The ghetto.
Layman’s: What we want now is putting what we want more at a greater distance. We are better than this moment, we are smarter than this disease, & we possess the domain to mitigate the outcomes; but it will require more discipline than we’re displaying, & a touch more humanity.
