Now that the curve has been demolished and death rates are changing at the rate of single digits or so per day, they have to revert to using a normal y-axis, because the log curves won't tell the same visual story.

Instead, everyone was freaking out because Rona looked like this on a log-scale.
I don't think there was a giant collusion-conspiracy to fix the data in this manner. What's more likely is that these people thought that they'd play it safe and make it seem more dramatic to get people to "wake up and smell the coffee!" But this charity proved brutally cruel.
Worst case scenario: they thought you were too stupid to understand what was going on, so they had to editorialize and make the data more dramatic so you'd get the point.

Remember these two things:
1) they used log-scales to scare you into thinking the number of DEATHS was climbing at a faster rate than actually was
2) they now are no longer using log-scales AND they have stopped plotting deaths entirely and have switched to "NEW CASES"
