/ I've been thinking about why I am so invested in FinTwit. It's simply this: I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to achieve their own version of financial freedom, whatever that means to them.
/ I got into problems with investing in speculative bubbles during dotcom and lost my ass. Credit card debt soon followed. If I wouldn't have been fortunate enough to find success in my career early on, I'm not sure how I would have gotten out of that mess.
/ I genuinely don't want to see anyone else have to experience the fear of not knowing how bills are going to get paid or the worry about which family member they're going to hit up for money.
/ I'm not bearish US equities because I'm anti-Trump, not patriotic, or want to see others fail. I'm bearish US equities because prices are not supported by economic fundamentals, and I KNOW for certain that always ends badly. I've lived it.
/ I am rooting against the stock market. And I'm doing so for one simple reason: it's being supported artificially to transfer wealth from hard-working, taxpaying Americans and their children largely to rent seekers who cry for bailouts every time their poor judgment costs them.
/ I post what I post to try to educate retail investors and help them make informed decisions. I didn't have a platform like this in 2000. I had WSJ, Edward Jones, financial television, and Motley Fool doing Portnoy long before Portnoy.
/ If I've helped anyone think differently or question things, then mission accomplished.
/ Ironically, while I set out to help people, it is me who has been helped the most. The knowledge I've gained from this platform is immense, and I look forward every day to new ideas and challenging my own assumptions.
/ I guarantee I will forget a ton of people, but some of the people early on who taught me a ton are:
@Herbie71387418 @RetirementRight @RaoulGMI @DiMartinoBooth @CordovaTrades @MoMoBagholder @RSInvestor @FlyrUsr @BluthCapital @apollotradingsd @kerberos007 @BlingCharts
/ These people are giants. Thank you all for everything. I know I forgot a ton of people who've taught me so much, and I am sorry. Thank you all as well.
/ @GregCrennan - I knew I would forget someone important. Thank you for everything as well!
