/I've studied Newt Gingrich for a while now (not as much as Julian E. Zelizer, read his book, Burning Down the House). Trump uses Newt's "Playbook" a lot. Since Trump-Pence are already telegraphing their play against Kamala ("too liberal") I want y'all to know that's Newt too.
/"In 1978, [Newt] ran an ad blasting his opponent, Virginia Shapard, saying, “If elected, Virginia will move to Washington, but her husband and her children will remain in Griffin. When elected, Newt will keep his family together.” https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1994-12-25-op-12904-story.html
/If you know anything about Gingrich, you know how hypocritical - and sexist - that is. If Pence attempts to use (as I term it) "The Shapard Play" he'll paint himself as a "family church-going man" while attempting to disparage Kamala's "family values." https://www.nytimes.com/2007/03/09/us/politics/09brfs-GINGRICHSAYS_BRF.html
/Of course, if Pence does, it'll be wrong, hypocritical, and a lie. Pence supports policies that have separated families. All of the dangerous policies Trump touts, Pence has been in full support of. Pence is still the darling to Right Wing billionaires: https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2017/10/23/the-danger-of-president-pence
/Where we'll run into issues -- is with the media. The media should know how dangerous Pence is. He's not this innocent "Aw Shucks" humble guy he's portrayed himself as (and the Media bought into). Like Newt, it's Pence who is "ruthless" not his opponent. https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/is-it-gods-plan-for-mike-pence-to-be-president/2018/08/31/0fe24a58-9b4f-11e8-843b-36e177f3081c_story.html
/So be ready #KHive. Newt taught Pence and Trump how to use the media (and hyperpartisanship) to their advantage. Push the media to vet Pence, they never fully have. Don't let the media fall into misogynoiristic tropes. Call them out. Have Kamala's back. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2016/11/17/vice-president-elect-mike-pence-has-his-own-email-dispute-in-indiana/
