Jujutsu Kaisen vs Chainsaw Man

A short thread discussing my preferences between these two fantastic new gen Shonen manga. I won't be spoiling anything either.
Jujutsu Kaisen takes a lot of generic storytelling concepts and isn't close to the most unique manga I've ever read, but its execution of these concepts has been wonderful so far.

Chainsaw Man is a lot more unique with some of the most wild storytelling I've ever seen in Shonen.
From its characters to its themes, CSM is quite unconventional, at least in comparison to other manga serialized in WSJ. Fujimoto takes a more audacious and intense approach to storytelling, constantly throwing insane twists and curveballs at his readers.
I thoroughly enjoy both Gege and Fujimoto's approaches, but I do prefer Fujimoto's as it does make Chainsaw Man a lot more entertaining and unexpectable.
Both of these manga are exceptional in the art department. I don't think there's an objective way to tackle this, and it completely boils down to preference. I do prefer Gege's artwork and style because of how well it works with Jujutsu Kaisen's atmosphere and fights.
I'd say JJK is superior in action choreography, paneling, fluidity and character designs whereas CSM is superior in detail and has some incredibly iconic page turns.
JJK easily has the superior cast and character work to me though. As much as I enjoy Denji, Makima and Aki, CSM's cast doesn't hold a candle to JJK's for me. In fact, JJK's character work is easily my favourite thing about the series whereas CSM's character work is something I +
think the series could definitely improve in. I will say though, Denji's potential and foundations as a main character are far superior to Yuji's.

There's a lot more to talk about regarding the two series, but I'll leave it with my verdict.
If I had to pick, I'm taking Chainsaw Man. It's a lot more thematically compelling, has provided some interesting mystery and I'm a lot more excited for the next few chapters than I am for JJK's next few chapters. Which is telling considering JJK's next few chapters are looking +
to be fucking AMAZING with how 120 ended. I'm definitely loving both manga and I truly think the sky's the limit for both of them, I expect big things from both Gege and Fujimoto and I love the fact that I'm going to be blessed with content by the both of them WEEKLY.
If you haven't read either of these, my advice to you is GO READ THEM BOTH. They're amazing.
