Thread: BH, BTS, IPO and new contract. This is corporate set up of BH’s business entities. Center is Bang & all of his business related partnerships. It included Pledis, Source Music, Netmarble, CJ and others. They are now all tied to BH’s IPO as they will be directly affected.-
Left: The year contracts end for each group. I will go into detail as it is stated in the news article.

Right: BTS initial contract was over on June of 2020, but boys renewed on October of 2018. At the time, the news outlets published the new contract would extend until 2027.-
The number of shares each member owns is 68,385 shares at 105,000 to 135,000 won per share($105-$135). Each member will get 7.1 billion won to 9.2 billion won in shares.($7mil-$9 mil)

It is only fair for BH to pay BTS 7 billion won in shares. It is not an exaggeration to say at-
all that BTS raised BH to its current position. BH’s overseas sales account for 62.4%. As of last year, 260 billion won of 416.6 billion won($260 mil out of $416 mil)came from overseas.(Thank U Iarmys) A major investment risk factor for BH is it’s high dependence on sales(BTS)-
According to BH, sales from BTS were 97.4% in 2019 & 87.7% in the 1st half of 2020.

Especially considering that BTS's performance last year led to this year's IPO, there cannot be BH without BTS.

BH extended the contract to end of 2024 thru an early renewal with BTS in 2018.-
This can be seen as a relief, but that is not the case right now.

A key investment risks associated with BH are military enlistment and its over dependence on BTS. Jin, the oldest must enlist by end of 2021.

BH said, “We are continuously expanding indirect participation-type -
sales that do not involve direct artist activities.”(IP) But also mentioned, "The main source of revenue is from our exclusive contract & artists activities. The comp’s profitability & growth could be negatively affected by the suspension of activities caused by their enlistment.-
The recently released "DYNAMITE" topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart and Billboard 200 chart. As result, the likelihood of a successful IPO is high, but it is also true that this is the reason for BH’s anxiety.

The artist who is believed to be able to contribute to profits other-
than BTS for BH is Source Music's Gfriend. But they must sign a renewal within 1 year.

According to the BH’s disclosure, Source Music recorded 3 billion won($3mil) in sales last year & 90 million won($90k) in net loss for the year.

In addition, it is known Seventeen(Pledis),-
another affiliate of BH is in the process of renewing their contract for 2022. Pledis already renewed contract with NU'EST last year.

Pledis' debt ratio has soared from 109.2% at the end of 2019 to 306.2% in the 1st half of 2020 due to an increase in borrowings related to -
an increase in borrowings related to acquisition financing and increased lease liabilities related to lease agreements for new buildings.

In addition, the dependence on loans increased from less than 1% to 24.5% during the same period.

As of the end of last year, Pledis had-
debt of about 9 billion won and now it’s 7.5 billion won.($9 mil to 7.5 mil)

Last year, Pledis posted an operating profit of 20 billion won($20 mil), but it needs to work on financial management for the time being.” End

The nickname for Pledis CEO is mosquito. Many in the -
Forgot to mention, in couple of the articles, it stated it will be important for BH to secure another renewal with BTS after 2024 contract ends. Everyone knows BH isn’t worth much without BTS. That is the reason BH spent so much money & effort in building IP, media content & TMs.
Ummm...this was for army. I am not familiar with Seventeen or NU'EST. My close dongsang, K ent CEO in Korea use to work at SM with CEO of Pledis & Source music, so he knows both well. Source CEO is a good guy but Pledis CEO is trouble he said. NU'EST already renewed last year.
Hey Pledis ppl, not sure what NU’EST or Seventeen fandoms are called but I have a little bit of good news. All of Pledis problem is now BH’s problem. BH acquired them. BH will probably have to spend $$ on both grps. What’s why industry ppl said BH was dumb for taking on Pledis.
